i spend some time exploring youtube.
there's a huge amount of rubbish, but some really useful stuff, both sociological and academic.. what i've suddenly noticed is really interesting from a sociological aspect - a nostalgia for the vanished soviet union;.

the main premise of the bible is that satan challenged jehovahs authority and humans fell for the lie so god then gave man / satan a chance to rule to "prove" that they needed him and couldn't do it themselves.

1. kills all of egypts firstborn sons, who were innocent kids who did nothing to him or his people, who had no control over the decisions pharoah made.
how many times have you read that account or thought about it without realizing the devastating pain dealt to all those parents, and remembered those were innocent kids?.

How did you first learn about Christ? In spirit or in Sunday school, through the bible?
What is the point of the multi-step process? First, we read a 4,000 year book riddled with inconsistencies and errors, then selectively apply its teachings while struggling to make sense of them alongside the other 41,000 christian denominations, to finaly (no guarantees) come to understand the most important message for humankind.
That is, if we don't die in the process of the thousands of set/allowed in place by the same loving creator who wholeheartedly wants us to find him and live forever....

I have a different question...
If all those atrocities and "misinterpretations" were made some 4,000 years ago reading the same (then much more accurate book), why use the same, much more erroneous, book today?
I mean, if they got it wrong, when god spoke to them directly and the ink was fresh, what about us now?
on another forum, somebody mentioned that there is a growing belief with those high up in watchtower hierarchy that the great tribulation will begin april 3, 2015. evidently, one has to check the skycharts for that date and compare with 33 ceand also compare with the history of jws for past 40, 80, 120 years.
